Dr. Michaelsen was raised in Norman, OK and received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University. He received his Medical Degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. He did his Internship and Residency at the Medical University of SC and completed a Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology there as well. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Oncology. He is Board Eligible in Hematology and has practiced at the Charleston Cancer Center since 2002. He has active privileges at Trident Medical Center, Summerville Medical Center, East Cooper Regional Medical Center, Roper Hospital, and St. Francis Hospital in South Carolina.
