Infusion services are offered at both the Tricom office in Charleston and the Mt Pleasant office. This unit is staffed by a team of registered nurses that maintain current Oncology Nursing Certification through the Oncology Nursing Society, and one certified nursing assistant.
Infusion services are offered during normal business hours and include chemotherapy infusions, hydration infusions and infusions or injections of medication. Phone calls for prescription refills or patient questions are answered by a registered nurse within a one hour time frame.
The infusion center also has a dispensing pharmacy for established patients. Prescriptions can be filled as patients are receiving therapy and be picked up as they leave. Oral chemotherapy, which may have to be ordered from a local pharmacy, is also kept in stock.
