Breast Care Navigator
Being diagnosed with breast cancer can be overwhelming. With everything that's on your mind, it can be difficult to absorb the information you will be receiving from your doctors, as well as to keep track of what's next and what to expect on your treatment journey. As your Breast Care Navigator, I want to make the process as simple and as easy as possible, so you can focus your time and energy on your care. You can think of me as a guide to your breast cancer treatment; I'll be with you every step of the way, making sure you have the support and information you need to stay committed to your fight against breast cancer. I've helped breast cancer patients and their caregivers navigate a complex healthcare environment and the challenges of the diagnosis, and I can do the same for you.
What can I do to help you navigate your treatment?
-
Help you make sense of your diagnosis and pathology report (a summary of test results classifying exactly what kind of breast cancer you have)
- Learn more about breast cancer, including understanding the stage and tumor characteristics like HER2 status and treatment options
- Understand the role of each member of your healthcare team and how often you may need to meet with them
- Prepare for each doctor appointment by reviewing its purpose and the questions and concerns patients often have at this point of the treatment journey, so you're ready to get the most out of your visits
- Find potential support groups for you or your loved ones
Please let me know if I can be of assistance to you in any way, even if you just want to talk to someone.
